I recently ripped all the photos off an old hard-drive that died in 2002... These Neck Face flicks where on there. I shot them in Soho on October 19, 2002 with one of those primordial digital cameras that wrote the images to 3.5" floppy...
This is what Citynoise looked like around the time I shot these flicks...
A quick web-search shows that this transceiver/antenna is almost all that remains of the "Third Naval District US Naval Communication Center Headquarters", which was located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and was closed in 1958. The entire Navy Yard facility, as an active, government-run facility was decomissioned in 1966.
Perhaps someone that knows more about this structure or its function could tell us more?
